Biography

Born in the UK in 1981, I've spent the past 12 years living and teaching in Spain, New Zealand and The Republic of Georgia. I've got two beautiful young daughters and a handsome little boy and I work as an English Language Specialist and as Copy-Editor for several cultural and business journals in Tbilisi. I'm also the Editor-in-Chief of Georgia Today, Georgia's leading English language newspaper.

Blood Omen is a project I've been working on quite happily for some time and it gives me such a thrill to see it finally on the global 'shelf' for others to read!

What started me writing Blood Omen, the five book vampire saga?
A dream. I know- it's happened to other writers too... I woke up one day, late January 2005, with a really clear image in my head: I saw myself sitting up in bed in my childhood room. It was night and the window was open. I could see the silhouette of a male vampire sitting at the window- one foot resting on the sill and an elbow resting casually on his knee; watching me in silence (if we had a conversation in that dream, it was lost when I woke up). But that image of him sitting there- powerful, dark, mysterious; dangerous and attractive- was irresistible and just begged to be written about! I decided his name was Elias. And so the first character in my Blood Omen saga was born. And from that point on, my story began to weave itself.

I've been writing and thinking up stories since I was very young, and I started writing vampire fiction when I was fourteen- though I never thought to make any real effort to get anything published. I once tried to describe to a friend what it was like to create a story from nothing: I said that, in my case and with Blood Omen in particular, I felt like the story was already complete in my head, but that there was a wall between me and it, and every day that I sat down at the computer and started to type, a little bit of that wall got chipped away and more and more details of the story and characters got revealed. It is a strange but very exciting process!

I hope all my friends, family and readers will get the same level of enjoyment from reading my books as I did in creating them!
