The collection includes six short stories: "The Traitor and the Wife", "Apostate, or Clouded Mind", "Mute", "The Guest", "Jonah, or the Artist at Work" and "The Stone that Grows". Translated from French by Giorgi Ekizashvili. "Exile and Kingdom" (L'Exil et le royaume) was first published in 1957. It is believed that the last story "The Stone that Grows" expresses Camus's ideals most clearly.
